The JV football team posted a 30-8 victory on Friday at Potsdam.
The game started slow, with neither team scoring in the first quarter on the windy afternoon.
The Bears broke the ice first with a touchdown rush from sophomore quarterback Daniel Mahoney. The Bears then cashed in on their two point try, making it 8-0.
On the very next kickoff the Bears recovered a Potsdam fumble. A few plays later Mahoney scored on another rushing touchdown and then connected with sophomore wide receiver Lane Rayburn on the two point try to make it 16-0.
The Bears then got the ball back again before half, and Mahoney connected with Rayburn for a 35 yard pass touchdown. The Bears were denied their two point conversion, leaving the score 22-0 going into the half.
Nobody was able to score in the third, but early in the fourth quarter sophomore running back Collin Parmeter punched in a touchdown run. Mahoney then connected with freshman wide receiver Erich Zuhlsdorf for the two point conversion making the game 30-0
Potsdam then scored late in the fourth and got the two point conversion making the game 30-8, which would hold as the final.
With the win the Bears improved to 4-2, and are back in action this Friday at home at 4:15.
