Canton cross country had a busy and successful week as they traveled to Brushton-Moira for the first league meet of the season and competed in the E.J. Herrmann invitational in Utica.
At Brushton, numerous athletes raced to season personal records. In the girls race, JessieJean Coffin placed 12th with a time of 22:59. Penelope Armendariz-Huang placed 15th, running a 23:30. Aurora Casserly finished in 23:59, placing 20th. Ashlan Foster placed 25th with a time of 24:46. Lena Frank ran a 25:01, placing 26th. Addison Ragan placed 28th with a time of 25:08.
On the boys side, Cedric Harper was Canton’s top finisher, placing sixth with a time of 17:43. Zachary Lyndaker placed ninth with a time of 18:10. Carson White took 14th with a time of 18:51. Hunter Gilson placed 25th with a time of 19:47. Brendan Todd placed 28th with a time of 19:53.
On the boys modified team, Oliver Williams ran the 1.5 mile race in 13:06 and Alden Barr ran it in 20:21.
In Utica, the varsity boys won the small school division against numerous teams from around the state and the girls performed well considering their small size.
Penelope Armendariz-Huang placed 13th in the girls race with a time of 23:21. JessieJean Coffin took 20th, running the race in 24:04. Aurora Casserly ran the race in 25:00, placing 27th. Addison Ragan placed 31st with a time of 25:26. Lena Frank placed 46th with a time of 27:25.
In the boys race, Cedric Harper placed third with a time of 18:14. Zachary Lyndaker placed sixth, running the race in 18:57. Carson White ran the race in 19:32, placing 11th.Elijah Williams placed 16th with a time of 20:28. Hunter Gilson placed 19th with a time of 20:48.
In the modified race, Oliver Williams placed 18th with a time of 11:07 and Alden Barr placed 47th with a time of 17:05.
Canton will next compete in Malone on September 29th.
