Canton XC Hosts Last Dual Meet of the Season

On Tuesday, October 21st, the Canton Cross Country team hosted their last regular meet of the season. Canton runners competed against Gouveneur and Ogdensburg on their home course.

In addition to this, Canton also held its senior night to honor this year’s only graduating runner, Duncan Harper.

In the girls race, both Gouveneur and Canton were incomplete due to injury and illness. Ogdensburg does not have a girls team.

Finishing close behind the Gouveneur runner who finished first in the girls race, was four Canton runners. JessieJean Coffin was Canton’s top finisher, with a time of 23:56. Lena Frank ran the race in 24:11. Addison Ragan finished in 24:57. Ashlan Foster ran the course in 25:20.

In the boys race, Canton’s Zachary Lyndaker took first with a time of 18:28. Cedric Harper was right behind, running an 18:30. Duncan Harper finished in 19:07. Carson White ran the race in 20:21. Elijah Williams completed the course in 21:17.

Canton athletes will compete next at Interdivisonals, which will take place at Norwood-Norfolk Central School on Tuesday, October 28th.
