Golden Bear Golfers Add Three Wins to Season Record

Tuesday, May 6 – Canton 225, Madrid-Waddington 269

A couple of low-40 scores helped the Golden Bears breeze by Madrid-Waddington at St. Lawrence Golf and Country Club.

Junior Daniel Richardson led the way for Canton, posting a 41 on the day. He was followed up by freshman Jackson Zebedee with a 43 and junior Daniel O’Neill with a 45.

Eighth grader Cole Lawrence shot 47 on the day, and junior Eliza Creurer shot 49. Sophomore Will McDonough rounded out the scoring for the Bears with a 52.

Wednesday, May 7 – Canton 217, Salmon River 226

Canton traveled to match up with the Salmon River Shamrocks, edging their Sectional opponent in the win.

O’Neill posted the low round of the day, firing a season best 38 for the Golden bears. Zebedee and Creurer both shot 44, while Richardson shot 45, Lawrence 46, and eighth grader Trey Klassen shot 56 for the Bears.

Monday, May 12 – Canton 214, Norwood-Norfolk 295

Several low-40 rounds helped the Bears coast to victory against Norwood-Norfolk at St. Lawrence Golf and Country Club.

Richardson registered the low round of the day, shooting 41. McDonough, listed as Canton’s sixth seeded golfer, registered a season best 41 on the day, while Creurer turned in a 43. Zebedee shot 44, Lawrence 46, and O’Neill 51 on the day.

Canton now sits in fifth place in Section X with a record of 5-2.
