On Saturday afternoon Canton Golden Bear senior Salma Moumen broke a barrier in the 3,000 meter run not experienced by many runners in C.C.S. indoor track and field history. The talented distance runner shaved over 30 seconds off of her personal best finishing in first place with a time of 10:44.98. Moumen places her name second on a list of talented student-athletes, all of which went on following high school to have outstanding running careers. She also becomes only the fourth runner in school history to break the 11:00 minute barrier on the indoor oval. Laura Pierce continues to hold onto the school and Section X record with a time of 10:08.5. A listing of other high achieving runners is below.

Also continuing to flex his times on the male distance oval is fellow senior Rylan Lee-Powell. Rylan finished his race on Saturday in first place in a time of 10:09.92. His time placed him almost ten seconds ahead of the 17 runner field. Classmate Kaden Worthley finished in third place in a time of 10:24.29.
