Canton Swimmers Complete Undefeated Regular Season

On October 29th, the swimmers of Canton Central finished their 13th consecutive undefeated regular season. Moving to 12-0 this season with a win against OFA on Senior night, the Bears look forward to pursuing a 13th consecutive Sectional title on November 10th. Senior night saw some excellent season best swims from Skyler Sanderson in the 100 Fly (1:11.98), Dilek Eisenstat in the 100 Back (1:23.00), Kaitlyn Redfern in the 100 back (1:02.72) and Grace Dollman in the 500 Freestyle (7:17.20)

Seniors: Julia Seeger, Lexi Stuntz, Skyler Sanderson, Maddy Swinwood, Gretchen Braun

Throughout the season, the team has had excellent time drops. They have trained hard, swum hard, and remained undefeated in the pool. This season Bears swimmers have set new sectional benchmarks and maintained the pattern they set in 2023. Gretchen Braun ‘25, Kaitlyn Redfern ‘27, Tessa Alguire ‘26, and Lexi Stuntz ‘25 continue to dominate in their events.

Braun and Redfern, like 2023, were undefeated by other teams in their races.

Alguire remains a force in the 50 free and Stuntz continues to be one of the top distance freestyles and backstrokers.

In 2024, Braun set two new Sectional records with a 24.34 in the 50 Freestyle and a 5:12.99 in the 500 Freestyle. Canton swimmers have set every single team and Section X record during the past two years.

This season the Bears have continued the excellence started by the 2012 Golden Bears. Since 2012, the swim team is undefeated in dual meets or Sectional championships. They are a combined 152-0-1 since 2012.

It has been a season full of fast swimming, fun training, and awesome dual meet victories. The Bears look forward to competing for the Sectional Championship on Sunday 11/10.
