Boys XC Sweep Top Four on Senior Night

On Tuesday Oct. 22, the Bears XC teams celebrated nine seniors before their meet against Potsdam and Norwood-Norfolk, the two strongest programs in the section aside from Canton. This was the last regular season meet before championship season, kicking off with Interdivisionals on Tuesday Oct. 29.

Four of the Canton seniors swept the boy’s race. Daniel Armendariz-Huang finished first in 17:24, Rylan Lee-Powell took second in 17:40, Lucas Watts placed third in 17:49, and Aiden Rodriguez-Doyle finished in 18:06. The Bears fifth runner was Adam Sabatini, who finished in 18:52, placing 6th. The boys triumphed over the Flyers 16-42, and beat the Sandstoners with a perfect score: 15-47.

Norwood-Norfolk swept the top five in the girl’s race. Madison Carista led with a finishing time of 22:10. The girl’s first two runners were Ori Casserly and Lena Frank, who placed 10th and 12th in 23:44 and 24:19. Seniors Violet Foster and Lorelei Harper crossed the line together in 17th and 18th, with times of 25:46. Addison Ragan was the Bears fifth runner, placing 22nd in 27:12. Norwood-Norfolk beat Canton 15-50, and Potsdam had an incomplete team.
