The Golden Bears boys hit the road to Brasher Falls to open the season Wednesday. It was Jonney McLear who would open the scoring for the Bears, who were looking to set the tone early. SLC quickly bounced back, tying the game up 1-1. The Bears then went on a mini-run with Hayden Towle, Jack Brandy and Jonney Mclear scoring the bears. The Bears would finish the first up quarter up 4-2. The next 2 quarters were back and forth for the Bears. The Bears and Larries traded back and forth while Canton was consistently able to maintain a two goal lead. Faceoffs and ground balls were key in maintaining possession and helping the Bears with key contributers being Daniel Creurer and Carter Lesperance. Canton was able to finish off the Larries with a final score of 9 – 7. Jonney Mclear would finish with 6 goals. Attackman Josh Ayrassian found the back of the net once and dished out two assists. Midfielder Jack Brandy scored his first career varsity goal and one assist of his own. Goaltender Garritt Palmer recorded 12 saves on the game and was instrumental in the clearing game for the Golden Bears.
