Canton 4, Massena 3
The Golden Bears took down Massena 4-3 Wednesday night in an absolute thriller at The Massena Arena. This win not only gave Canton their first Section X regular season title in six years, but a ticket directly to the Section X championship game.

Before the first period started, Massena held a ceremony commemorating all seniors. Canton used this time to visualize for the game and try to lock in on the task ahead.
The brown and gold would strike first with a wrist shot goal by Drew Blevins that found the back of the net through heavy traffic in front. Massena would then respond 10 minutes later with a goal by Carter King.
Massena came out hot in the second netting a goal to put them up one early in the second period.
Moments later Blevins would put home a rebound out front to tie the game up for the brown and gold. Three minutes later, Blevins struck again as the result of a pass from Freshman Grady Nee.
Just six seconds after Blevins’ hat-trick goal, Josh Aryassian skated the puck into the offensive zone, then turned and dropped it to Senior Jonney McLear who teed up a one timer, the puck sizzling past the goalies ear and into the net.
Canton now went into the third period up by two goals. That margin wouldn’t last very long as Massena would score four minutes into the third.
The Bears held on through the remainder of the game to seal the win, but not before some spectacular save from Daniel Creurer.
The Golden Bears will now face off against the winner of the Section X Semifinal between Massena and Potsdam. The Championship game is slated for Monday at 8 p.m. at Cheel Arena in Potsdam.
