The Golden Bears went into Ogdensburg to take on The Blue Devils in a match up where Canton has not won in six years. The brown and gold started the game off hot with multiple scoring chances, but couldn’t capitalize on any.

Late in the first period, after a boarding penalty by Canton, OFA took the ice for a power play. Minutes later Owen Logan forced a turnover that led to a breakaway goal by the talented freshman. This gave The Golden Bears the lead going into intermission.
Canton started the second period killing off the OFA power play. Play continued in the second period with both teams getting shots on their opponent. Canton found themselves on a power play midway through the second and they knew the next goal was a big one.
Senior Drew Blevins skated the puck in deep and dished it out front to fellow Captain Garritt Palmer. Palmer buried the puck in the net to double the Canton lead.
Minutes later the brown and gold found themselves in the offensive zone, peppering Ty Jacobs with shots. Reid Doyle eventually found the back of the net to give Canton the 3-0 lead.
The third period started with a bit more resistance from OFA. Tyler Sovie of the Blue Devils netted a goal for his squad to give them a glimmer of hope.
Canton’s Jonney McClear had other plans, scoring his first of the season to propel Canton to the win. Canton now looks at the schedule to Wednesday, Jan. 17, when they battle The Norrwood-Norfolk Flyers.
