Canton 3, Ontario Bay 2

After a strong past weekend, the boys in gold found themselves facing off versus Ontario Bay on Friday night. The game started out with a quick goal by the Storm, but Canton showed grit by peppering the opponent with shots. The Bears went into the first intermission down by a goal.
With some strong words of encouragement by the Canton coaching staff, The Bears came out hot with multiple scoring chances. Leadership played a crucial role in this game as Senior Reid Doyle walked the Ontario Bay defender to score the opening goal. The clock ran down on the second and the Brown and Gold were at a stand still against The Storm.

The third period rolled around and Ontario Bay struck first to put themselves up by a goal. Just two minutes later, Senior Jacob Rosales sniped a wrist shot past the ear of the Ontario Bay goaltender. This tied the game up with 10 minutes remaining. After a long stretch of maintained pressure by The Golden Bears, skilled center and Senior Drew Blevins put home a rebound with 32 seconds left to lift Canton to a 3-2 victory.
Canton 5, Burnt Hills Balston Lake 3
The Golden Bears took on The Bears of Burnt Hills-Balston Lake Saturday afternoon and it sure did not disappoint. The game started with a quiet first 10 minutes, but the pace picked up dramatically toward the end of the period. With around five minutes left in the first, Burnt Hills netted two back-to-back goals in less than a minute. Canton was not going to go down that easy and showed perseverance as Rosales buried a goal less than a minute later. The scoring did not end there as The Burnt Hills Bears scored the seemingly last goal of the period with 30 seconds left to extend their lead to 3-1. But, The Golden Bears had other plans, as Captain Garritt Palmer won the draw back and Senior Drew Blevins swooped in to net a goal with two seconds remaining on the clock.
Canton wasted no time in the second period pressuring the opposing goaltender with countless scoring chances. The Golden Bears then had an odd man rush that led to Sophomore Caleb Briggs racking up the game tying goal 12 minutes in. The scoring was settled down and Canton went into intermission with two things, confidence and a purpose. That purpose was to win.
The third period started with some back-and-forth plays by both teams, but Canton ended up scoring first. The goal was scored on a two-on-one by G. Palmer and this gave the Brown and Gold their first lead of the game. Later in the period, Freshman Owen Palmer scored his second of the year on an empty net to secure the win for The Golden Bears. Goalie Daniel Creurer played a crucial role in the game and made many clutch saves throughout to help propel Canton to victory.
