In Norwood on Monday evening, Canton 40, Norwood 32
The Canton Girls JV Basketball traveled to Norwood-Norfolk on Monday night to welcome the Flyers into the Central Division. The young Bear Cubs struggled in the first quarter but gained momentum as the game went on to earn a 40-32 Bears win.
Jenna Larrabee and Elle White continued to be a tough scoring duo as they netted 16 and 14 points in the game. Ashley Aldous also dropped in six points in the winning cause.
“We started the game out very sluggish but after we shook off the bus legs we seemed to play better,” said Head Coach Mike Wentworth. “Elle and Jenna have been a tough combination so far. I am hoping as the season goes on the younger girls will start to follow their lead. Elise Harris played her best game of the year. If she keeps playing that aggressive it is really going to help the team take the next step.”
The Bears have the rest of the week off from games and won’t be back in action until Monday when they host Massena in their home opener. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30.
