JV Bears Tame Huskies In Malone

In Malone on Thursday afternoon, Canton 7  Malone 2

The Canton boys JV Soccer team hopped on a bus Thursday afternoon and took the long bus ride to Franklin County to see how they would stand up to the Malone Huskies.

The young Bears started the game with seven unanswered goals on their way to a 7-2 victory.  Tomi Husinic & Thomas Creurer led the way offensively scoring two goals each.  Gavin Schryver, Will McDonough and Grady Nee also hit the back of the net for Canton.  Husinic also dished out four assists in the win.  Nee, Schryver and Griff Coakley each made a pass to the pipes in the scoring barrage.

“Our passing and spacing has been so good the last week and a half.  It has created a lot of scoring opportunities for us as a team.  I know the boys love to score but the real story has been Aaron Rosales, Gavin Schryver, James Trombley, Robert Palmer, Doc Roiger and Thomas Creurer back on defense.  That group is hungry for shutouts.  They don’t even like it when the opponent crosses mid field.  Legendary coaches, Roger Dusharm and Wayne Willete would love that crew!” from Coach Wentworth

The Bears have the weekend off and step back on the field on Monday when the Potsdam Sandstoners come back to town.  Game time 4:30

Note:  With the new layout of the athletic complex, with student safety in mind, the Middle School lot (Behind the School) will not be available to park for athletic events this fall. Please use the new parking lot or the Banford and High School lots. There is a pedestrian walkway to safely walk to the fields from the lot.  Please do not park on the grass by the football field.  We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
