Canton 13, Colton-Pierrpont 4
The Varsity Lacrosse team took the win to start the week on Monday afternoon against the Colts. The final score of the contest was 13 to four in favor of the Bears as the are heading into playoffs soon.
Canton dominated in one of their final regular season games against the Colts. With six different players netting a goal the Bears really got the ball moving this game and distributed it like a thriving team. Nolan Bombard led Canton in the goal category, dropping four goals in the contest, two of his goals assisted and two on his own. Johnny Mclear had three goals of his own to propel the Bears to a win, and adding one assist to go along with it. Canton advances into the playoffs against the Potsdam Sandstoners on Saturday morning.
Canton 14, Potsdam 11
The Bears took the win on Saturday morning and knocked Potsdam off their high horse to advance to the Section X Semi-Finals. The game ended with a final score of 14 to 11 as Canton rejoiced after a big win.
The Bears came out firing in the opening quarter of their first playoff game, netting six goals to Potsdam’s three and getting a three goal lead that they would never forfeit for the rest of the game. Ethan Francey had a hat trick in the first quarter for the Bears, he ended up the game with four total goals and one assist. Garrit Palmer stood strong in net for the Bears, with 14 total saves, aiding the Bears to the win. The McLear brothers, Johnney and Josh, combined for six total points for the Bears on the afternoon. Canton advanced to the Section X Semi-Finals against the Massena Red Raiders, at 5:00 in Massena.
