In Heuvelton on Monday afternoon, Canton 19, Heuvelton 2
The Bears started the final week of the regular season by traveling to Heuvelton to play the Bulldogs. Canton finished the day with a 19-2 win.
Canton scored eight runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back. Tessa Alguire led the way going 4-4 with two RBI’s. Katie Metcalf and Maya Thomas also had a big day, smoking three hits in the winning cause. Ava Hoy and Hadley Alguire each smacked a double.

Three different Canton pitchers combined for a four hitter. Hadley Alguire, Ava Hoy and Tessa Alguire struck out twelve batters in six innings.

“We got off the bus rocking today. When we scored eight runs in the first inning it more than took a little pressure off the pitchers and defense. I hope we can keep it rolling like that.”

The Bears will take a bus ride to Salmon River on Tuesday to face the Shamrocks. Game time is 4:30
