On Friday afternoon, April 20, in Canton at Ike Noble Fields: Canton 7, Malone 3
On Friday afternoon the Canton Golden Bears hosted the Franklin Academy Huskies at Ike Noble Field. After breaking out for sixteen runs the day before in Brasher the Bears had to survive a scare and outlast Malone 7-3.

Offensively the Bears were led by Olivia Sero who went 3-3. Hadley Alguire and Katie Metcalf smacked two hits and a double in the winning cause.
Ava Hoy earned the win in the circle pitching four innings, striking out 10. Hadley Alguire earned the save by pitching three scoreless innings, striking out four.
“The Malone pitcher did a great job keeping us off the bases for the most part but we did put together some hits along with some aggressive baserunning to scrape up some runs when we needed to,” said Coach Mike Wentworth. “I was very happy with our defense today. We are starting to put things together in the field and make plays that need to be made. The webcam of the day was a beautiful running catch from Emma Logan in centerfield. She covered a lot of ground to catch that ball.”

Canton will have the weekend off, and then be back at it next week when they will make the trip to Gouverneur to play the Wildcats on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
