Varsity Boys Lacrosse falls Victim to Massena in Season Opener

Massena 10, Canton 5

The Boys Varsity Lacrosse team had its season opening game against the Massena Raiders on a brisk Sunday afternoon at SUNY Canton. Unfortunately the end result of the game did not come out in their favor as the final score of the game was 10-5 in favor of the Raiders.

Canton shot out of a cannon on this game, as they won the face-off and went right down and scored just 18 seconds into the game, giving them the one goal advantage. But then Massena struck back with goals of their own and by the end of the first half the score of the game was 5-2 in favor of the Raiders.

To start the second half the Bears made a push, with Sophomore Caleb Hartmann scoring two goals. But then Massena turned on the afterburners, moving the ball well and finishing at the net. The lack of ball movement by the Canton was what ultimately was the nail in the coffin for the Bears.
