On Wednesday night Canton faced off against an impressive Potsdam team in the Route 11 Rivalry . Unfortunately the Bears lost the contest in the end, with the final score being 7-4 in favor of the Sandstoners.

Canton fell short of their second win of the season on Wednesday night at the Canton pavilion. Their opponents, the Potsdam Sandstoners featured a much improved roster compared to last year, with Senior Potsdam star Ryan Rutley dominating against the Bears from all aspects of the game. Rutley came back to Potsdam to finish out his High School career, he previously played at Northwood Prep.
Canton was just one step behind Potsdam all night, scoring one less goal than the Sandstoners in each and every period. Goals for the Bears came from four different scorers in junior Reid Doyle, senior Josh Aldous, freshman Jack Brandy, and junior Drew Blevins. Brandy’s tally marks the first of his career. Sophomore forward Josh Ayrassian also added two assists for the Bears. Sophomore goaltender Daniel Creurer stopped 40 of the 47 shots he faced in net.
Canton has a big week ahead of them as they will face off against Norwood on Wednesday, Thousand Islands on Friday, and Finally Ithaca on Saturday to cap off their week.
