The Bears faced off against Niagara-Wheatfield on Friday night at the Canton pavilion. Looking to win their first contest of the season and advance to an undefeated start. Unfortunately, they ended up losing the contest 9-0 through three periods of play.

The Falcons got off to a hot start on Friday night scoring five goals in the first period on starting freshman goaltender Gavin Schryver. Then after a quick turnaround and change in net for the Bears Sophomore Daniel Creurer stood strong in net, with only four goals allowed through two periods with an onslaught of 39 shots fired at him. Overall in the game, the Bears struggled but if there’s any time you want to lose it’s early in the season when you still can learn a lesson from it and develop. The Bears face Balston-Spa/Burnt Hills on Friday in the first game of the home tournament, followed by a game Saturday against Penfield.
