Cantons JV girls soccer won 2-0 on Tuesday over the Massena Red Raiders. A low scoring game came as a result of a strong defensive performance. Jenna Larabee’s force and grit paired with Elaina Robert’s speed were a problem for Massena and helped the Bears keep them scoreless. Goalie Callie Tebo had 9 saves and committed to several sweeps out of the net diving on the ball before their striker could get to it.
Sara Aldous scored both of Canton’s goals with assists from Olivia Francey and Shaylee Olmstead. Olivia Francey had an impressive game showing her skills on both the defensive and offensive sides of the field. The Bears move to 12-1-1 on the season and play Salmon River on Tuesday in their last week of league play.
