The Canton boys JV Soccer team hosted the Malone Huskies on Tuesday afternoon and came away with their 13th win of the season.
Lucas Howie, Daniel Creurer and the “Wizard of Oz” Zuker scored for the Bears.
“We played short-handed the first half but the boys pulled it together and played great,” Coach Mike Wentworth said. “We created a lot of good scoring opportunities with good ball movement today. The improvement from this group has been fun to watch. “
In Massena, Canton 2, Massena 2
The Canton boys JV soccer team traveled to Massena to square off with the Raiders for the third time this season. The Bears had come out on top the first two times but only total of goals the two teams.
“We are the only team to have beaten them so you know they were going to come after us today,” Wentworth said.
The Bears ended the game in a 2-2 tie. Will Andes and Josh McLear scored for Canton. Zadok Roiger made 10 saves in the win.
On Saturday morning in Canton, Canton 6, Lowville 0
Canton hosted Lowville in a non league game on Saturday morning on Homecoming weekend. The young bear cubs jumped out on top early and never looked back beating Lowville by the score of 6-0.
Gavin Schryver, Lucas Howie, Grady Nee, Alex Thompson and Josh McLear all scored for the Bears. Zadok Roiger made 9 saves in the victory.
“We had a good week on the Soccer field. Massena played us tough but we were able to walk away with the tie. The boys are exited for the last game on Wednesday. They want to finish what they started”, commented Coach Wentworth.
