Varsity Swimming Downs Ogdensburg

The Varsity swim team welcomed Ogdensburg into the Bears Den on Oct. 6 in a Section X matchup between the Bears and the Devils. The Bears won in convincing fashion, 115-54, propelling their unblemished record to an impressive 5-0.

Canton came out of the gates hot on Thursday night and never looked back, either winning or having a tie for points on every single race and winning overall as well. The relay team of Stuntz, Redfern, Thomas and Alguire won the 200 Medley Relay for Canton with a time of 2:05.10. Canton also won second and fifth in that event. Skyler Sanderson won the 200 Freestyle for the Bears with a time of 2:15.74 with Madison Mitchell and Marilisa Salvi-Miguel placing third and fifth, respectively. Kaitlyn Redfern came out on top in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:08.38 with Kayla Larabee and Carmen Mussen finished third and fourth place. Canton also won first, second and third in 100 Backstroke. To cap off the night for the Bears, the team won first in the 400 Freestyle Relay which included Stuntz, Sanderson, Alguire and Mitchell with a time of 4:17.03. Canton also placed third in that race with another relay team. Canton stays perfect on the season as they head into the next week felling strong about their team.
