The Canton Modified Girls played two tough teams last week, away at Gouverneur and home versus OFA. For both games, the Lady Bears played extremely hard, looking the best they have played all season. The week before, however, the girls were able to overwhelm the Norwood-Norfolk Flyers.
Sept. 30 Canton 8, Norwood-Norfolk 0
The Lady Bears won their fourth game at the end of September, with a score of 8-0. In the first half Elena Abplanalp scored three goals, Ashley Aldous scored two, and Madison Aryassian and Ashlyn Beeles both scored one. Then during the second half, Kaitlyn Holbrook scored her first goal of the season, late in the second half.
Oct. 3 Gouverneur 5, Canton 2
Against Gouverneur, the Lady Cats got an early goal in quick, and followed that up with two more goals before half. Then the Bears scored two goals from Reagan Kiah and Elena Abplanalp, but Governeur was also able to score two more goals, ending the game 5-2.
Oct. 6 OFA 1, Canton, 0
Home against OFA was a fight for both teams until the very end. Canton had a lot of opportunities during the first half to score but was unable to find the back of the net. OFA was able to score the first half, which turned out to be the winning goal for Ogdensburg.
