
Sophomore Ryan Jones was the low scorer among the trio of Golden Bears at the New York State Boys Golf Championships Sunday and Monday. Jones, who carded rounds of 76 and 88 at Mark Twain Golf Course in Elmira, finished tied for 61st at the State Championship.
Junior Sam Sieminski improved on his Sunday round 86 with a second-day score of 79, good for a tie for 65th.
Junior John O’Neill finished also bested his first round score of 94 with a 91 on Monday, finishing tied for 95th place.

At McGregor Links Country Club in Wilton, Canton eighth grader Eliza Creurer bounced back from a first round 110 to card a 94 on Monday, improving her ranking to 81st for the New York State Girls Championship. Creurer was the lone representative from Section X at the girls’ event.
Thomas Finn, a senior from Section VIII’s Locust Valley took home the boys State Championship. Finn carded an impressive six-under par 66 Sunday followed by an even par 72 Monday to win the Championship by four strokes.
Kennedy Swedick of The Albany Academies secured the girls State Championship, carding back-to-back even par rounds of 72.
