Canton hosted Salmon River on Monday in the first round of the Class B play offs and it was also Senior Day at Ike Noble Field. The Bear topped the Shamrocks 22-0 and said goodbye to Hailey “Jordy” Jordan, Alyssa Jacob and Cate DeCoteau.
Ava Hoy started in the circle and pitched three innings, striking out six. Courtney Peters and Tessa Alguire also pitched one inning apiece for the combined shutout.
Hoy also led the team with the bat going 2-2. Sydnee Francis, Cate DeCoteau, Tessa Alguire, Olivia Sero, Hailey Jordan and Kayla Larrabee all had a hit in the game.
The Bears now move on to play in the Class B Championship game against Gouverneur on Wednesday at SUNY Potsdam. First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 pm.
