The Canton Modified Baseball Team improved to 7-0 on the season with a pair of lopsided wins this weekend.
Friday evening the Bears traveled to Gouverneur and came away with a 22-2 win. Saturday morning they traveled to Potsdam and won 22-3.

Against Gouverneur, Canton wrapped out 17 hits and reached base on nine errors and four walks. Zadok Roiger was 3-for-5 with an RBI and four runs scored. Charlie Todd hit his third home run in as many games and was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Jackson Ames was 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and four RBI.

JJ Ahlfeld added two hits and two RBI, and scored four runs. Mat Bradish-Hayes reached base in all five plate appearances with a hit and four runs scored. Gavin Schryver also had a hit for Canton.
Roiger started on the mound and went five innings for the win. He allowed only six base runners, giving up two hits and a walk with 10 strikeouts.

Ahlfeld pitched the sixth and gave up an unearned run as Gouverneur had a hit, reached on an error and Ahlfeld walked two. He finished with one strikeout. Schryver pitched the seventh and also gave up an unearned run on an error, a walk and a triple. He struck out two.
Saturday, Canton added 17 hits and reached on eight walks and five errors against Potsdam. Every member of the team scored a run in a strong team effort.

Schryver was 4-for-5 with three runs scored and three RBI. Todd was 3-for-4 with yet another home run, three runs scored and three RBI. Roiger was 3-for-4 with four runs scored and two RBI. Paul Redfern was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
Bradish-Hayes was 2-for-3, including a bases-loaded triple for three RBI, and he scored three runs. Ames was 1-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Jack Parker reached base four times and Ayden Ashlaw scored two runs.

Todd went three innings on the mound to earn his fourth win of the season. He gave up three runs, two earned, on three hits with two walks and seven strikeouts. Redfern pitched two innings and did not give up a hit. He walked two and struck out five. Ames finished the last two innings, giving up one hit with two walks and four strikeouts.
The Bears play Gouverneur again Tuesday at home at 4:30 p.m.
