Canton Modified Baseball improved to 4-0 on the season with a 16-0 win over Salmon River at home Monday. Salmon River was once again shorthanded, bringing only seven players, so two Canton players played for the Shamrocks.

The Bears wrapped out 13 hits, led by a stellar day by Charlie Todd. Todd was 4-for-4 with a home run, a triple, two singles, three runs scored and seven runs batted in.

Jackson Ames was 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, a single and two RBI. Jack Parker was 2-for-2 with two hits, a walk and a hit by pitch to go with two RBI. JJ Ahlfeld was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Paul Redfern was 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and three runs scored. Zadok Roiger had a hit and two walks for three runs scored.

Ahlfeld pitched the first three innings to earn the win. He gave up two hits and two walks, with one strikeout. The Bears turned two double plays to back him up. Gavin Schryver went two innings, also giving up two hits and two walks with three strikeouts, and Ames threw the final two innings, giving up a hit and a walk.

Matt Bradish-Hayes, playing for Salmon River, was 3-for-3 with a double and made some outstanding plays in the field.

The Bears host Malone Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
