JV Score: Canton 46, Potsdam 13
Round two of the “Route 11 Rivalry” between the Canton Golden Bears and the Potsdam Sandstoners took place at a standing room only Jerry Hourihan gymnasium on Friday night. The JV girls came away with a 46-13 win over the young Sandstoners. Coach Wentworth said “This was a nice team win, with almost every girl putting points on the board. Our ball movement and passing has been improving every game and tonight it was nice to see the results of the girls hard work” The Bears were led in scoring by eighth grader Jenna Larrabee who banged out 12 points and 8 rebounds. Vivian Coburn also showed her continued shooting improvement by tickling the twin for 10 points and 7 assists. Other girls putting points on the board were: Tessa Alguire (7 points, 11 Rebounds), Olivia White 6 points, 5 steals), Sara Aldous (5 points), Olivia Francy 4 points and Salma Moumen (2 Points).
The JV girls are off for the weekend and back on the court against NAC on Monday night in Canton. Tip Off is scheduled for 5:30pm with the varsity to follow.——————————–
Varsity Score: Canton 73, Potsdam 32 Ava Hoy led the Bears with 25 points (four 3 pointers) followed up by older sister Maddie who chucked in 18 and Amelia Rodee also battled for 10 points on the night.
