Canton 50 Malone 23 , In Canton Thursday
The Canton JV Girls (3-1) faced off with the Malone Huskies on Thursday night at Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium. The Bear outscored the Huskies by the score of 50-23 and were led in scoring by Freshman Winnie Downs who netted 15 points. Also filling up the scoring column for the young Bears were eighth graders Tessa Alguire (8 points), Olivia White (8 points) and Olivia Francey (7 Points).
“We again played hard and were very aggressive on the defensive end of the court tonight. For us to take the next step, we just need to finish better at the hoop.” The Bears will be in action again on Saturday night at SUNY Canton when they tip it off with NAC. Game time is scheduled for 6:00pm with the varsity game to follow.
