On Tuesday evening in Massena, the Canton Golden Bears got the win. All were good fought sets with Canton coming out on top. 25-16, 25-10, and 25-20
During the first set, Massena put up a good fight keeping it close but the Bears took control and got the win 25-16.
The second set was led by Josie Gabriel’s strong serving. Massena could not return her serves leading to many aces and a Canton set win 25-10.
The third set was the closest of the three. Massena put up a good fight but the Bears fought back harder. They ultimately got the 25-20 win over the Raiders.
Strong performers of the night were Emma Logan with 2 kills, 4 assists, 2 aces, and 3 service points. Cecily Shipman with 2 kills, 8 points served including 3 aces. Josie Gabriel had 1 kill, 6 aces, and served up 7 points. Laurel Whittier had 1 ace and served a total of nine points. Finally, Maura Onyper served up 9 points.
The Bears are back in action on Thursday the 14th at Tupper Lake and Friday the 15th home against Gouvenour.
