Modified Football Ties Tupper Lake

In Thursday night’s gridiron action, the Canton Golden Bears Modified football team settled for a scoreless tie against the Tupper Lake Lumberjacks.

Wyatt Delorme for the Bears led the team in rushing yards and picked up a set first downs.  Parker Hurlbut and Ian Thrasher would break tackles to pick up a Golden Bear first down.

On defense, Murphy Burke and Noah Friot appeared to be a problem for the Lumberjacks as they recorded three sacks each for the Bears. It was Ryan Faunce and Daniel Richardson that would lead the Bears in tackles Thursday night in the Adirondacks.

“Boys played great tonight. We saw that we had some road graders in the trenches and that’s the kind of football I like to see,” said Co-Coach Trey Grant. “I saw a love for the game tonight and I saw boys having fun. I’m looking forward to next week and we hope to bring this energy against Malone on Saturday.”

The Golden Bears Host Malone next week, day and time to be determined.
