Hadley Alguire pitched the victory striking out 11. Alguire also singled and tripled and scored three runs to lead the Canton offense along with Natalie Warner who rapped a double and two singles and scored three runs. Warner singled in Canton three-run seventh.  Cate DeCoteau singled twice, Lexi Huiatt singled and scored twice and Sydnee Francis also scored twice for the Bears. Brooke Larrabee and Alyssa Jacobs singled.  With runners on first and second base and two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, sophomore Sydnee Francis made an ESPN Web Gem at second base that saved two runs and put a stop to an OFA rally.

“We are playing without Emily Wentworth right now so we talked about everyone stepping up and doing a little extra to keep us going and we did that today.  The next few days are really going to be a test of our senior leadership and see what kind of team we really are.” stated head coach Mike Wentworth.

The Devils were sparked by Bailey Friot with a triple and two singles to drive in four runs to help support Riley Hough’s complete game pitching effort.

The Bears and Blue Devils will be in action again on Tuesday afternoon at Ike Noble Fields in Canton.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30.
