Varsity Baseball Falls to Massena

The Canton Golden Bears Varsity Baseball team fell 9-0 to the Massena Red Raiders Monday night. The Bears started off the season with a rather poor showing in the field amounting to 5 errors between them.

The Bears fared no better on offense, with the only hit coming from Scott Ahlfeld with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the seventh inning to break up Massena’s then perfect game. Ahlfeld also pitched 2.1 innings with three walks, one strikeout, three earned runs, and one hit against him. David Zulsdorf went four innings with six strikeouts, two walks, five hits, and two earned runs against. Tanner Hazelton pitched .2 innings and allowed two hits and two earned runs.

Canton returns Friday, May 7, to face Malone at home.
