I continue to receive condolences and comments from caring Canton residents who truly miss their beloved St. Lawrence Plaindealer. But thanks to former Plaindealer reporter Jake Newman, our local student athletes can continue to be recognized for their achievements, both on and off the field and court, in and out of the pool and on and off the cross country trails and hockey rinks.
Jake has created an enthusiastic core of players, coaches, parents and fans with his blog Plaindealer Sports. I was elated when he asked me to join the team. Once again I have the opportunity to inform the public on what’s going on in the world of Canton Bears athletics.
Although Jake and I oversee and publish articles and photographs, the bread and butter of the website originates from the coaches, student athletes and parents. A person affiliated with each sports team has been writing and submitting the articles. He or she attaches a photo if available. Parents in attendance have also be emailing photos. It’s going to take a continued team effort to keep the ball rolling.
We welcome all sports-related items and tidbits. Canton Boosters news, bottle drives, meeting notices, and in the spring and summer months ladies’ and men’s golf league results. Also, if anyone has caught a big fish or bagged a nice deer, send us a photo. If you recorded a hole-in-one, send us a photo. Send us the men’s and women’s summer soccer league results. The Canton Pee Wee Association can get the word out on our website. The opportunities are endless.
Anyone interested in having something posted on Plaindealersports.com, simply send me an email – paulmitchell206@gmail.com.
Both Jake and I looking forward to hearing from you. We are striving to make Plaindealer Sports the best it can be and with your support, it can easily be the “go-to” website for Canton Bears sports and much more.
Regards,
Paul D. Mitchell
