Girls JV Soccer Shuts Out St. Lawrence Central

The girls JV soccer team had their last home game this season last Thursday. The girls ended up shutting out SLC 4-0.

The Bears have been having a very good season and it was a nice way to end on their home field as winners.

The girls wore the “Throwback Jerseys,” that must be good luck. The throwback jerseys are from about 35 years ago. The team wears them at least once a year for fun on throwback Thursday.

The Bears started off strong in the first half with a corner kick from Megan Martin with the ball tapped in by Maddie Hoy, then Anna Woodruff snuck one in. During the first half, Maddie Hoy also got a breakaway goal.

Then in the second half Anna Woodruff put her second one in leading the Bears 4-0.

For some fun during the game coach Fanning took phenom goaltender Bree Rodgers out of the net for a break. He then put in girls that have never played net before, including Abby and Anna Woodruff.

The Bears have two more games left of this season. On Monday they play Ogdensburg and Wednesday they will travel to Salmon River. Good luck to the Bears on their last two games!!
