Canton Varsity Volleyball fell Thursday to the Blue Devils in Ogdensburg in four sets 17-25,25-16,21-25,15-25.

The Bears had a slow start in the first set, but a burst of energy gave the Bears a comeback in the second set. Throughout the match Canton played with high energy but Ogdensburg simply made fewer errors.

Canton used every member of their team Thursday night. The team focused on high energy play, which they were successful in, however the team was unable to turn this energy into kills. While the Bears did play strong defense with many long rallies and had impressive saves, they were unable to finish out the match.

Although many players contributed the top performers were Jillian DiSalvo with eight kills and five aces, Sydney Lorenc with 12 kills and Gretchen Warner had eight kills as well. Setter Kelsea Whittier had 24 assists and the team as a whole had 23 digs.

The Bears are back on the court next Thursday in Madrid-Waddington 6 p.m. They hope to bounce back from this loss and get back on a winning streak. Go Bears!
