With scores of 25-15, 23-25, 22-25, 25-17, 20-25 the Varsity Volleyball team lost to Ogdensburg. The Bears came out strong in the first set winning by 10 points, yet their strength wavered in the following sets. Throughout the match Canton had points of great play however, ultimately unforced errors determined the game.

This tough loss suffered by the Bears was not due to lack of effort, though. Canton continued to fight and all members of the team played their role on the squad. Missed serves and hesitations led to lost points at times when the sets were on the line. The Bears also struggled to find an offensive rhythm due to the scrappy defense put forth by the Blue Devils.
For the Bears, hitter Gretchen Warner has 15 kills and two blocks. Hitter Jillian DiSalvo added nine kills while defensive specialist Grace Franklin had three kills, six digs, and served five aces. Setter Kelsea Whittier had a season-high 28 assists and three digs.
The Bears look forward to their next match at home on Thursday against Madrid-Waddington at 6:30 p.m. The team hopes to put this tough loss in their past and continue moving forward on their journey throughout the season.
