The Canton Golden Bears modified softball team defeated the Potsdam Sandstoners on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 11-1 bringing their record to a perfect 6-0 at the midway point in the season.

Tessa Alguire pitched a complete game striking out eighteen. The lone Potsdam run came in the second inning, scored by Lola Buckley. Buckley hit a double and then was able to capitalize on an error by the Bears and leg it out to home. That tied the game up at 1-1. For the remainder of the game the Bears defense stayed strong only allowing two more base runners in the game.

At the top of the third inning the Bears came alive offensively scoring three in the third inning, three in the fourth inning, two in the fifth inning and one each in the sixth and seventh innings. Alguire led the Bears with a triple, a double, a single, and scored twice. Olivia Sommerstein added two singles and scored twice. Jenna Larrabee also added a single and scored twice.

The next game is scheduled for 6/2 @ OFA with a 4:30 start.
