In Norwood on Thursday evening, Canton 63, Norwood-Norfolk 23
The girls JV Basketball team took a short ride to Norwood Norfolk to tip it up with the Flyers on Thursday night. The Bears started out the first quarter hot by outscoring Norwood 15-2, on the way to a 63-23 victory.
Tessa Alguire led all scorers with 15 points followed up by Jenna Larrabee and Sara Aldous who netted 14 and 11 points in the winning cause. With the win, the Bear Cubs earned a share of the Central league title for the third year in a row with an overall record of 16-3.
“The girls really played well tonight and had a great season. I love how they played every game with a purpose and the overall improvement from the entire group was unbelievable. As a team they never wanted to do things the easy way, they wanted to do it the right way. That is why they will be successful at the next level,” stated Coach Wentworth.
