In Massena on Tuesday evening, Canton 44, Massena 16
The Canton JV Girls Basketball team traveled to Massena on Tuesday night to play against the Red Raiders. The Bears jumped on top early outscoring the Raiders 12-2 in the first quarter on the way to a 44-16 victory. All eight girls on the roster scored in the game for Canton. Tessa Alguire, Sara Aldous and Haley Burnett all had nine points in the balanced scoring attack for the Cubs.
“The girls really played great tonight. They always come into every game like they are trying to prove something. They ran the floor and moved the ball outstanding tonight.
On another note; congrats to the boys JV Basketball team and Coach Porter on a great season! They just finished their season with a 19-1 record. That was a fun team to watch. I personally only remember one other boys JV basketball team at Canton that finished with a better record. The 1983 team led by the Simpson brothers, Mattie Matteson and Mark Saltrelli finished undefeated.” Said Coach Wentworth.
The Lady Bears will finish up their season on Thursday in Norwood. Game time is set for 5:30pm
