In Malone on Thursday evening: Canton 45, Franklin Academy 18
The Canton Girls JV Basketball team made the trip to Malone on Thursday night to tip it off with the Franklin Academy Huskies. The Bear Cubs walked away with a 45-18 victory. Tessa Alguire led the team in scoring with 14 points followed by Haley Burnett who netted 12 points in the winning cause.
“Malone is a tough place to play and it always seems to take a quarter to shake off the bus legs from the long ride. The girls played very good Basketball tonight and our foul shooting was much better. Haley Burnett shot very well tonight and when she got hot in the second half, everything started clicking”, stated Coach Wentworth.
Canton will be at home on Saturday afternoon when they will host the Edwards Knox Cougars at Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium at 1:30.
