The Canton modified volleyball teams split in two matches this past week.
On October 11, the Gold Team fell to a hard-serving Massena squad 8-25, 9-25, and 13-25. On Thursday October 13, the Brown Team swept Gouverneur 25-20, 25-13, 25-17.
Amal Moumen collected three digs for the Gold Team against Massena. Zoey Zebedee nailed a pair of kills. Sophie Chen and Zarah Robert each had an ace and a dig. Nevaeh Halpin added a kill and a dig, and Madison Sovie chipped in with an ace.
The Brown Team continued their strong serving effort pounding down 30 aces against the Wildcats. Harlie Larsen was outstanding behind the line with 12 aces, including seven straight serves at one point in the match. Claire Polniak recorded six aces, including five in a row, and two kills. Layla Clifford and Elle Manno added five aces apiece, and Arianne Grimshaw notched two aces.
The Gold Team will host Madrid-Waddington on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m., and the Brown Team will also play at home this week, entertaining Clifton-Fine on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 5 p.m.
