The volunteers for the outdoor sport court renovation project at the Canton Recreational Pavilion are seeking help from the public to complete the installation of the boards at the outdoor facility. The group plans to hold a work day on Saturday, Sept. 17 from 9 a.m. to noon, during which time volunteers will be asked to help install the remaining boards and also stain the two dressing room sheds adjacent to the rink.
Volunteers are asked to bring a drill if possible – drill bits will be provided – and wear old clothes that can get paint on them. Volunteers will supply all other equipment and will provide hotdogs for lunch, as well as water and sports drinks throughout the morning work session.
The volunteer group has been working weekly at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays to complete the project as well, and will continue to do so. Volunteers are welcome and encouraged to join at the Wednesday sessions.
