JV Score: Canton 55 Salmon River 22
On Monday night The Salmon River Shamrocks came to town to tip it off with the Canton Golden Bears in Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium. Coaching the JV team this year was Golden Bear alum Katy Briedis who played Basketball for Canton JV coach Mike Wentworth as an 8th & 9th grader. “Katy was a very good player and she had a great group of athletes in her class! They were all three sport athletes and whatever sport was in season was their favorite. They kind of remind me of this year’s group. They just love to play! She will do a good job with Salmon River. It won’t be long and you will see them start to improve.

The young Bears beat the Shamrocks by the score of 55-22. Leading the team in scoring was Olivia White who knocked down 18 points. Also putting up big numbers for the JV squad were Tessa Alguire and Haley Burnett with 10 points each. Winnie Downs also put up 7 points in the winning cause.

“Best ball movement of the year tonight. It was nice to see every single player on the team score tonight. ” said coach Mike Wentworth
Grass won’t be growing under the Bears’ feet because they hit the road to St. Lawrence Central on Tuesday night to face the Larries. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30
