The Canton Girls JV Basketball game hosted the Ogdensburg Blue Devils on Thursday night in Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium for their first home game of the year. Fresh off a win over Potsdam on Tuesday The Bears opened up an early 17-0 scoring run and never looked back.
“The girls played very well today. I loved the way they ran the floor and got out in front on the break.” stated Coach Mike Wentworth Sophomore Laurel Whittier and Eighth grader Olivia White lead the well balanced Bears scoring attack with twelve points each, followed by Vivian Coburn (9 Points), Haley Burnett (8 points), Winnie Downs and Olivia Francey (7 Points), Sara Aldous (6 points) and Tessa Alguire (4 points)
The young Bears will be back in action on Monday when they make the trip to Massena to face the Raiders. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30pm. Remember, if you are planning to attend the game that a mask is required at all indoor sporting events.
