The Canton JV girls Basketball traveled to Potsdam for their first game of the 2021/22 season. The route 11 rivalry was very close through the first half until the young Bears started to pull away. “The game was very fast paced and a little on the sloppy side early but we are very young and athletic and I think people will see a steady improvement every game. This is going to be a fun group to watch grow throughout the season.” stated coach Mike Wentworth.
Leading the JV team were a pair of freshmen in Winnie Downs (11 pts,) and Vivian Coburn (9 pts, 6 Assists). The next four top scores in the game were all eighth graders Olivia Francey (8 pts,), Tessa Alguire (5 pts, 12 Rebounds), Olivia White (4 pts,) and Jenna Larrabee (4 pts).
The junior Bears will be back in action on Thursday night in Jerry Hourihan Gymnasium vs the Blue Devils from Ogdensburg. Game time is scheduled for 5:30pm. Just a reminder that everyone who attends the game is required to wear a mask.
