Swimming against Massena on 10/21, the Canton squad took first and third in the opening relay and never looked back. The third place relay was anchored by senior stalwarts Hailey Jordan, Olivia Logan, and Mia Mousaw. These three senior leaders swam well after a tough week of practice. Coach McGovern recognized their leadership and ability to overcome adversity during their careers. Each of these swimmers has battled injury, but has continued to push, train, and contribute in positive ways. This strength of character is a positive example of their leadership and drive.
The meet against Massena was highlighted by strong swims by Lexi Stuntz in the 200 IM, Maralisa Salvi-Miquel in the 200 Free, and Kaitlyn Redfern in the 50 Free. Olivia Logan provided yet another bright spot as she was able to compete in the 500 freestyle for the first time in two years.
Canton will complete their regular season with two meets this week – 10/25 and 10/29.
