Modified Boys Soccer Bounces Back with 5-3 Win Over Salmon River

The boys modified soccer team got its first win of the season in Salmon River, taking down the Shamrocks 5-3.  Four minutes into the contest, Tomi Husinec found the back of the net off a feed from William Andes, the first points of both their careers. The Golden Bears carried the momentum into the second quarter as Kevyn Morrissey scored his first of year, bringing the score to 2-0. The Shamrocks were able to put one past GK Owen Logan, making the score 2-1 at the half.

Early into the senior half, eighth grade captain Hayden Towle scored the first of his career extending the lead. Later on Tomi Husinec found the back of the net off a through ball from Tyler Zebedee to push the lead further. Moments later Husinec was able to repay the favor as he set up a great cross-goal finish from Zebedee.  The game final was 5-3.

The Golden Bears move to 1-1 on the season.  The Bears are back in action on Thursday as they take on the Malone Huskies at 5 p.m. in Malone.
