The Canton Golden Bears Varsity Soccer team suffered a loss at the hands of the Massena Red Raiders, 3-0 on Friday afternoon.
The Bears were again slow in the first half and could not beat the more physical and willing Massena team to the ball. Quickly overwhelmed on defense, the Bears let up two goals in the first half. Hayden Todd stood on his head in net for Canton, keeping an unbalanced game close.
The second half was not great and Massena again scored on the Canton defense. In the final 10 minutes of the game the Bears started to play like a soccer team and advanced the ball upfield for crosses and scoring chances. The Bears efforts were futile, as the game was out of reach at that point in the game.
The Bears play Monday in Salmon River.
