The Canton boys varsity lacrosse team defeated Massena 14-6 on Monday to improve to 3-0 in league play (3-1 overall).
Monday featured an even attack from the Golden Bears, with five different players scoring multiple goals. Senior midfielder Trey Bessette led the way for the Bears with 5 total points off of three goals and two assists. Seniors Charles Grandaw, Aiden Hoose, and Colin Taylor as well as Junior Daniel Mahoney all contributed multiple goals for the Golden Bears.
Junior midfielder Kaden Baxter and sophomore attackman Nolan Bombard each contributed one tally as well.
The Bears were also stout on defense. Canton’s close defense trio of senior Peter Coakley, senior Parker Hunt and junior Rhett Palmer were solid throughout the match, and only allowed 11 shots on goal.
Senior long stick middy Sky Kennedy, senior defenseman Tanner Cloce, and sophomores Bowen Rodriguez and Nick Button also contributed to the Bears defensive success.
Hayden Todd was once again solid between the pipes, finishing with five saves and earning his third win.
